The Wheatsheaf occupies a half-timbered building on the High Street, the main shopping street running through the centre of Shrewsbury. The building is old enough to look as though it belongs there — three bar areas inside, walls covered in photographs and prints of old Shrewsbury, the kind of interior that accumulates rather than gets designed.

The Wheatsheaf is at number 50 on the High Street, the main shopping thoroughfare connecting Pride Hill to the town centre. Two minutes on foot from The Square, directly on the route between the market and the old town.
The kitchen uses local produce and prepares food to order. The specials board changes regularly and the Sunday roast is one of the more consistently recommended in the town centre. Worth booking a table for Sunday lunch rather than arriving and hoping.
